Meat Muffins

So, here’s a great recipe using a muffin tin vice the regular meatloaf pan.

1lb ground beef or turkey

1 egg

1/2-3/4 cup breadcrumbs (Italian or plain)

1/2 cup barbecue sauce ( I like Cattleman’s Carolina tangy)

1/2 cup of onions

salt and pepper to taste

heat oven to 375 degrees and bake for 25 minutesimage

Gary and I

I met Gary in a town called Ocracoke about 2 months ago. I was walking and window shopping around 4:30 in the afternoon and that’s when I stumbled on an interesting general store. Out in front of the entrance is where our eyes met. He gazed at me longingly as if his eyes were saying “take me home, I’m on sale.” I couldn’t break the hold he had on me, yet he was not in my price range for that trip.

Sadly, I left the store and felt this emptiness come over me like a dark heavy cloak.  I kept walking and shopping and when we had walked the circuit of shops, we came back on the general store. I had this sense that if I could only send someone in to haggle for me, I could have him. Of course, the person I was with was being a turd and it took almost a half an hour to talk him into doing my bidding. But, we walked in and it happened! The manager accepted my offer, I went running out the front door, scooped him up and our hearts met again! I carried him all the way back to the house and placed him in his very own spot in the yard. The next day we traveled back home and from there, the rest is history.

Oh Gary. You are so special to me.

Frank and Lavender

There’s always times during the day when work gets a little slow, and instead of reaching for a cupcake, I reach in my purse and grab some frankincense and lavender for my diffuser.

Of course, some offices have rules about air fresheners no excessive perfumes and sprays. My workplace is no exception. But, I run my diffuser on the intermittent mode and drop 2 drops of each in and let the focus and relaxation begin!

Essential oils can be strong, so I find a little dab will do ya.

Bootie Spray

OK. So, the husband wants me to concoct a bootie spray for his surf boots. I say just buy some, but in the interest of being frugal, here it is:

It’s kind and of trial by error. I’m no scientist or chemist, but it’s been working for the stink in the boots. 😘

spray bottle

water 1/2 way full

vinegar- test your spray first

essential oil- don’t use one that will eat the neoprene. I like tea tree. Purchase here:
