Evening At The Boat House

Spending the evening relaxing with friends, getting mosquito bites and enjoying laughs.

Why Is Everyone Staring At Me

Well, some are and some aren’t. Today they definitely were because I missed a button on my uniform shirt and walked around like that for 2 hours before I noticed.

But hey, no one’s perfect.

I also had a “revelation” driving to work that I am changing my name to Gypsy Starlight. Why not?!

Deepak Chopra was doing a Facebook live video a couple days ago  (don’t quote me), about how we are not a person. You are not the same person you were yesterday. You are not the same physical or mental person you were when you were a baby.

We change every day, our cells die and new ones are made. Our life energy in us changes. We are not “the person” we were in the past and we will be a different person tomorrow.

So, we shouldn’t define ourselves as one type, or persona or place restrictions on who we are, because we can and do change every day. It is very freeing.

Cat Naps

Happy Tuesday!!!

Mad Scientist Mondays

I truly believe I’m a freak of nature. Well, I guess “freak” is a little harsh, maybe weirdo would be more fitting? Anyways, I developed hives all over my back and stomach over the weekend. Why? Who knows! I am allergic to everything, but it was just strange because I didn’t change any products or foods or anything. So I reached for my oil medicine cabinet and pulled out the patchouli and lavender and commenced the slathering. It worked awesome, and the next day there were only remnants of itchies left. 3rd day the hives came back, so i decided to go to the doctor. He gave me an antihistamine, petroleum based cream and anti-reflux medicine that has antihistamine properties. Whaaattt??

  • Um, gross to the cream and no I’m not taking reflux medicine I don’t need.

So, i went back to the oils and I’ve had no problems since.

I would rather play mad scientist with essential oils. It’s much healthier. 😘

Funny Cat Watching Olympics

Hahaha this is just a short video of my cat discovering gymnastics on tv. She’s a trip.

Thieves To The Rescue

I am taking a few days off this week and of course, my body decides it’s also taking a vacation from work this week. Fatigue, aches and weird skin pain came on like a ton of bricks. For some reason, things like this always eat up a day or two of my vacations.

I decided to try my bottle of Theives oil out, and saved myself a trip to the doc and pharmacy. I realy didn’t have anything to lose by trying it out and I was extatic when it gave me relief.

I put some grapeseed oil and 3 drops of Theives oil into the palm of my hand and then rubbed it on the bottoms of my feet. I layed down on the couch for about a half hour and that’s when I started to feel some of the fatigue lift. I was able to get some chores done around the house instead of wasting the day complaining and laying around. That night, I did the same thing on my feet and I feel great today.

Coincidence? I think not! There are many therapeutic uses for essential oils. You just gotta try them and see what works for you!

Lantana In July

No story, just the bloom of a lantana. Perennial in zone 7. I love the herby smell, although it’s putrid to some. Happy July.

Tip of The Day

Bunny or Cat?

Is this a bunny or a cat? 😁

Sunday Cuteness

The gladiolus is native to Sub-Saharan Africa, South Africa and Eurasia.  But mine were native to Lowes in the bulb
Their stems are normally unbranched and produce 1 to 9 sword shaped leaves. The large-flowered types require moisture during the growing season, and must be individually staked as soon as the sword-shaped flower heads appear.
I bought the bulbs last year and without realizing they needed to be staked had a lot falling over.

This year they grew even larger and they are gourgeous! As long as the have a stake, light and water they are easy to grow.
