I was watching a YouTube video, and the woman was talking about how being vulnerable is a part of finding your strength, happiness and success. As I was listening,  it began to make more and more sense to me.  Putting myself “out there” with friendships, career, new ideas and basically a lot of scary things is how I will grow, learn and eventually find my “why”.

For me, this last year has been difficult and almost daily ask myself “why am I here, what am I supposed to be doing with my life and where do I fit in the world around me?”

I have lived a majority of my life in fear. Fear of authority, fear of failure, fear of not having enough, fear of people not liking me… the list goes on. But, lately I’ve moved past SOME of that to push through the fears and what a world there is out there! Lol

Small changes count. Baby steps count. Listening counts. Today, don’t be scared.

Golden Milk Recipe

It’s the beginning of a new year and this warm tumeric drink is worth another posting. #goodrecipe .

This recipe is for Tumeric Tea aka Golden Milk, aka anti-inflammatory drink. I now believe it’s my life mission to fight my immune system since the prednisone, hives debacle of 2 weeks ago. Yup, it’s back and worse than before.

People that have never had chronic skin  conditions  might not understand how debilitating it can be. But, we can enlist armies of warriors. Warriors are all around us; in the spice cabinet, pantry, essential oils, and the internet 😚

1 cup almond milk, or non dairy

Local area honey (to taste )

A couple dashes of black pepper

1/2 teaspoon tumeric paste or fresh ground

1/2 inch ground ginger root

Couple sprinkles of cinnamon  (or 1 drop Young Living cinnamon essential oil)

Gently heat-mine is in a pot on #2 level of an electric stove. Stir to mix. Try not to boil, we want to keep all the good nutrients and vitamins in there!

P. S.- Natural ingrediets or organic are best. But, this is what I had in the pantry and that’s o.k. too.

Itchies, Bumps and Hives. Oh My!

Gluten intolerance, food allergies, environmental toxins, there’s so many things these days that are attacking our bodies. I feel like I need to get a plastic bubble suit and then I will be able to go out into the world and enjoy life!

I’ve had allergies since I was 18. So, a couple years lol 😉 . I’ve tried antihistamines ,  h2 blockers (like Zantac) shots, inhalers, creams and steroids. This last trip to the ER really has me at my wits end.

The doc and me are  convinced that besides mold, dust and dry air, the culprit is hiding in my diet. And so begins the elimination of breads, pastas, dairy, sweets… I’m probably going to starve.

The one thing that hasn’t let me down are my oils. I have a few blends that I wasn’t sure what to do with, so I did my research and dropped it in the diffuser. It’s called Aromaease. It contains spearmint, peppermint, cardamom, fennel, and ginger. It smells cool, calming and just relaxes the environment around me. The mints always seem to support my respiratory issues, so I  will diffuse this at bed tonight too! My fight against my environment probably won’t end soon, so I will definitely update when I find the culprit! Thanks😄

Switchel-Hottest New Drink of 2017!

Fermented drinks are all the rage these days, and although I made a few attempts to make kombucha, it didn’t work out so well. (Scoby molded-GROSS) So, I had to put that idea to rest.

Then,  I came across a Pintrest pin about another fermented drink called Switchel. MUCH easier to make than kombucha! Plus, it’s really refreshing and full of vitamin c, enzymes, electrolytes  and probiotics.

There are a lot of different recipes, but I go with what tastes good to me and, of course, I always add a few drops of essential oils in there like orange or lemon 😉 Try it and let me know what ya think!

  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 2 Tbsp grated ginger (fresh root is best)
  • 1/4 cup black molasses  (or honey)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar  (the good cloudy kind) not filtered

It can be kept in the fridge for a few days or on your kitchen counter. Mix or shake in a glass container and enjoy!

Creating Abundance

Abundance is an attitude and state of mind… Apparently.

I never thought about it like that because I was brought up thinking words like that meant wealth, $$$, tables of food, piles of jewels and having lots of THINGS. My views have changed a lot over the last couple of years, mostly because of life, job and people changes.

Life is life, jobs come and go (not necessarily planned or expected) and people don’t always live up to our expectations. So, what’s left when all that falls into the shitter? I am slowly learning that there is actually a lot left to life. There’s a seed of hope that things will even out and a conversation with a stranger at the grocery store. There’s the ability to show up for a friend when they need you or getting a good couple of meals in the same day.

I guess abundance is a choice (to some extent) and I know that I can choose to see everything as good or all bad. But, I want to find some peace and be happy, so that mindset is definitely something I have to consciously work on. However, it gets easier everyday.

Thanksgiving was a little different for me this year. I was stuck in a situation with my career-kind of a limbo of sorts, and received some closure with that on Tuesday.

There’s a lot of fear in the unknown but I keep plugging along because I just know I will find my”why”.

What did the universe, world, god put me here to do. I might never know. But instead of listening to everyone else, I am going to let my heart drive the van for a change.

That’s why I believe my journey with oils has been so life changing. Empowerment, support and healing are just a few of the things I’ve gained on this journey.

I would love to help you do the same for you and the people you care about! Follow my link in the menu for my choice for oils, and begin your journey.

Sunday Psychotherapy

This is just funny to me. Lol All or nothing thinking.
I have said before that I’m not a Healthcare provider, doctor or anything like that.  When I post my thoughts on a particular topic, its just my view through my eyes, brain and sense of humor.

Messy End Table

I’m not really great at writing, or being able to get everything out with words. But, I looked at the end table next to “my seat” on the couch and thought “geez, you need to put that crap away!”

Then I realized, this describes my life and me all on one 18″×18″ end table.

Talking About Stuff I Love

I’m actually outside! Talking to people I don’t know! Somewhere I’ve never been! 😆

I signed up for a small neighborhood vendor event and I have a table for my oils. I actually love talking about oils and how I’ve switched out A LOT of my household products and personal products for essential oils. Plus, Young Living is offering 10% off the starter kit until October 19, 2016.

Crazy good deal, $300 value for $144!!!!!

It’s like christmas in October!!!

Plus, I  am giving a pocket reference book for oils in my welcome bags. I live out of this book! It has intro info, safety and ways to use them.

Just go to my menu and hit “my choice for essential oils”.

If you’ve never tried them, let me know! I would love to walk you through it.

Seed To Seal

This just reinforces how grateful i am to have found Young Living. I spent a lot of money on health food store, online, cheap oils because I didn’t know that “100% pure” on the label DOESN’T mean it is 100% essential oil.  5x’s extra strength??!!!

I can go to YL’s farms and see every part of their process.  No one else has that, and there is sooo much freedom and empowerment in knowing I can trust them.  I use Young Living products because they are the best and because I use these oils medicinally.❤ Don’t be fooled!

Unhelpful Thinking Habits

Here are some tips from psychotherapy for this week…

Fuzzy Cat Playin

My spirit guide, Huki. She’s going to be 7 and besides passing out on the porch like a drunk sailor, she likes to play.
