Tidbit Thursday-Rosemary Hydrosol

I don’t know if it’s stress, the weather, hormones, or diet, but I noticed my hair was falling out and receding along my forehead. So, I decided to try a natural remedy, vice store bought chemicals.

  • Handful of rosemary (picked fresh from a garden plant is great)
  • Clean metal pot with lid
  • Ice cubes and purified water
  • Small mason jar or bowl
  • Glass spray bottles
  • Cedarwood essential oil
  • Lavender essential oil
  • Funnel

Here’s where you can get the best oils.

Put mason jar in the middle of the pot and fill the pot with about 2 inches of water. The water should not be too high as to get into the mason jar/bowl. Put the sprigs of rosemary in the pot water. Heat water to just under boiling. Don’t let it boil. Put the lid on the pot upsidedown so the steamed water will condense and drip into the mason jar. Heat this for 20 minutes.

When time is up, let the mason jar cool with the hydrosol liquid in it. You can pitch the pot, herbs and water.

Once cooled, pour into a spray bottle and add essential oils. Then you can just shake and spray!
