Turkish Tiles

About a year ago, I was looking for a tattoo design. I wanted something that tied in my creative side and heritage and happened to stumble upon Turkish tiles. These tiles are a beautiful demonstration of Islamic art with roots dating as far back as the 8th and 9th century.  The example above is not an original, but the color scheme and fluents scrolls are what caught my eye. Many tiles are adorned with pheasants and coral red tulips and I just think they are exquisite.
