Switchel-Hottest New Drink of 2017!

Fermented drinks are all the rage these days, and although I made a few attempts to make kombucha, it didn’t work out so well. (Scoby molded-GROSS) So, I had to put that idea to rest.

Then,  I came across a Pintrest pin about another fermented drink called Switchel. MUCH easier to make than kombucha! Plus, it’s really refreshing and full of vitamin c, enzymes, electrolytes  and probiotics.

There are a lot of different recipes, but I go with what tastes good to me and, of course, I always add a few drops of essential oils in there like orange or lemon 😉 Try it and let me know what ya think!

  • 4 cups filtered water
  • 2 Tbsp grated ginger (fresh root is best)
  • 1/4 cup black molasses  (or honey)
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon or lime
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar  (the good cloudy kind) not filtered

It can be kept in the fridge for a few days or on your kitchen counter. Mix or shake in a glass container and enjoy!
